Class News April 3rd

Posted on

Hello Room 3 Families,

It seems like this past quarter has flown by and now its time for report cards again. I have been working with kids outside of the classroom to see how they are progressing on their reading and math skills. I am so amazed at the growth they have made over the past few months. On Monday April 9th we will be completing their report cards and sending them home the following Friday.

Ms. Abi has officially taken over the lead role of teacher this week. I am here to support her in any way I can. So far, its going very smoothly. I am impressed by her level of dedication and skill for a new teacher.

Earlier this week, we had our last session with BodyVox’s Mr. Ari. The kids had a great time learning to put emotions into movement. Thank you for helping make that possible by getting folks to sponsor your kids with Run For the Arts. Speaking of art… Art Night is right around the corner on May 2nd. Mark your calendars for this event! It is the highlight of the year in my opinion. This week, we completed one of our Art Night pieces inspired by Picasso’s cubism period. The kids feel very proud of their work and are looking forward to sharing it on Art Night.

Here are a few photos of our time with BodyVox.

We have been working with Ms. Ala on some technology tools that have been shared with you through SeeSaw. My goal is for us to do a weekly reflection each Friday through SeeSaw. Students are going to reflect on a piece of work that they feel proud of and would like to share with families, so please check out your child’s postings on SeeSaw.

I was asked to share this letter on behalf of the Lewis Foundation

Dear Lewis Parents,

Thank you for helping your child’s class put together a project for the auction. The classroom baskets and art projects were by far some of the most popular auction items. We greatly appreciate your support and could not have done it without you!  It is an honor to be a part of such a strong and caring community.  With your support we hope that we can continue to raise funds to help support staffing at Lewis.
Sincerely,
The Lewis Foundation
